How do I manage my CV from My Workspace?

Click on “My Workspace” in the menu bar, then choose “My CV”.

Edit the sections you need to change by clicking on the “Edit’ button on the top-right corner of each section.

Make sure you click on the “Save” button at the end of each section to ensure that all the information you entered for this section is saved.

How can I get a professional CV?

How do I get recommendations?

Go to your Recommendations section by clicking on “My Workspace” in the menu, then “Recommendations“. Click on the “Ask For Recommendation”.

You have different options when it comes to asking for a recommendation; you can browse your Facebook contacts, browse your Yahoo! contacts, browse your Gmail contacts, or ask a particular person for a recommendation by entering their name and email address.

If you want to ask someone from your Facebook contacts, for example, you can click on “Find people through your Facebook contacts”. You will now see several pages asking you to allow different actions to occur. To continue, select “Okay”. Don’t worry, Bayt.com won`t share your Facebook or Bayt.com activities without your explicit permission.

Next, you’ll be able to select the contacts you want to ask for a recommendation. You can add your own message at the bottom of the window, and then click “Send”.

How can I share my CV with others?

Go to your Dashboard by clicking on “My Workspace” in the menu.

Next to your CV title, click on the little magnifying glass icon.

A new window will open up showing your CV. On the top, you will find three options for sharing:

– Print your CV

– Export your CV to a different file format

– Email your CV

Even better, you can share your Bayt.com Public Profile by accessing the sharing links on the right column.

 

What are multiple CVs?

You can have as many as five CVs on Bayt.com. This is because we understand that you may want to apply to different jobs with different skill sets.

Let’s say you found a job vacancy on Bayt.com that you really love. Customizing your CV to this posting is an important way to highlight how you match the position and the company’s needs. Customizing your CV is especially important if you are interested in applying to a vacancy that requires changing career fields, if you have a good amount of experience in different fields, or if you’re returning to the job market after a long break.

Do note though that only your primary CV can be set as searchable. You can use the rest to apply directly to relevant job vacancies.

To create a new CV, go to “My CV” under “My Workspace”, then click on the “Post another CV” link next to your main-CV tab.

You will then have the option of using the Bayt.com CV Builder or importing your CV from a file.

You can also duplicate an existing CV and edit it in a new CV file, delete a CV, or print a CV using the little icons on the right side.

Your primary CV is the only CV that will show up when employers search for you or when you activate your Public Profile. This CV can’t be deleted.

If you want to make one of your other CVs Primary, simply go to that CV and look for the “Set as Primary CV” button on the right side of the CV page. Click on the button and that other CV will become your primary CV.

What does “Confidential CV” mean?

A confidential CV means that some information won’t be displayed when your CV comes up in an employer’s search. The information we will hide is:

– Your name
– Your current or last employer
– Your contact information
– Your CV picture

When your CV is set as confidential, employers can still contact you using your Bayt.com inbox.

To set your CV as confidential, go to “My CV” under “My Workspace”, then check the “Set as Confidential CV” checkbox in CV Settings on the right column of the page. Please note that this option will only be available when your Public Profile is not active.

What does “Searchable CV” mean?

When your CV is set as “searchable”, it means that you can be found by employers on Bayt.com who are looking to fill their vacancies by using our CV Search tool. Otherwise, your CV can only be seen when you use it to manually apply to certain job vacancies on Bayt.com.

We recommend that you set your CV as searchable, because a lot of employers do not post their job vacancies but choose to look for the suitable candidate by searching our CV database instead.

You can make sure your CV is set as searchable by going to “My CV” under “My Workspace”, then checking the “Set as Searchable CV” checkbox in CV Settings on the right column of the page.

How do I increase my CV visibility with Visibility Charts?

You can find your Visibility Charts by going to “My Workspace” and then clicking on “Visibility Charts.” Here you can find information on the number and background of people who viewed your CV and Public Profile.

If you scroll down you’ll find a comparison between your CV to the CVs of others. You can also analyze your CV to find out what’s missing and check if your CV is easy to find.

If you click on the “Analyze Now” button, the CV Clinic window will open, listing the strengths and weaknesses of your CV.

If you click on the “Find out Now” button, you’ll find the keywords that employers used to find your CV.

Why is my CV picture not showing up or being approved?

If your CV photo is not showing up, it may be that it’s still pending approval from our CV moderation team, or that it hasn’t been approved.

To help you make sure that your CV photo is professional, we have the following guidelines that you should adhere to:

  • Only upload a photograph of yourself
  • Photos of children, celebrities, pets, or illustrated cartoon characters will not be approved
  • Photos containing nudity, gore, or hateful themes are not permissible and may lead to the cancellation of your account
  • Photos of your passport, ID, or photos containing any personal information such as your address, passport number, or contact details are not permissible for your own security.

Can I simply import my CV to Bayt.com?

Yes, you can. You can import your existing CV and our CV Builder will extract your details automatically from it. Click on the ‘Post Your CV’ button on the Bayt.com homepage. If you have an account on Bayt.com, you will immediately be able to use the CV Builder. If you don’t have an account, you will be taken to the registration page.

Once logged in, you will have two options to create your CV. Click on “Upload My CV”.

Now, upload the file you want to import your information from.  Currently, the “Upload My CV” option doesn’t support Arabic language. You can upload different file formats: .doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt, and the maximum file size has to be 1MB.

After the CV  uploads successfully, you’ll be taken to a page where you can complete the missing information.

We recommend that you add your name in both Arabic and English. This can be done either from the CV Builder or from your “Account Settings”. We recommend you do this because employers using the Arabic interface of Bayt.com will be able to see your name in Arabic when they’re viewing your CV or your Public Profile.

You have a higher chance of employers viewing your CV if your CV completeness score is high. You can track your CV’s percentage of completion using the CV Completeness score on the upper right side of the screen. We will suggest what sections you can add in order to increase your CV completeness score.

How do I edit my Bayt.com CV?

Click on “My Workspace” in the menu bar, then choose “My CV”.

How can I complete my Bayt.com CV?

You can easily find the missing sections by looking at the “CV Completeness Score” section on the right side of your Bayt.com CV page. You will find a list of suggestions listing the sections that are missing information.

Please, make sure that you fill in all the required fields including your address, location, Job Role, Company Industry, Work Description, and other information.

How do I post my CV on Bayt.com?

Click on the ‘Post Your CV’ button on the Bayt.com homepage. If you have an account on Bayt.com, you will immediately be able to use the CV Builder. If you don’t have an account, you will be taken to the registration page.

Once logged in, you will have two options to create your CV:

1. Use the CV Builder

This is the step we recommend, where we’ll help you step-by-step in building an effective CV. You should complete all required sections in order to allow your CV to be viewed by employers. Make sure your CV is set as searchable.

Edit each section by clicking on the “Edit” button on the top-right corner of the box.

Make sure you click the “Save” button at the end of each section to ensure that all the information you entered for this section is saved.


2. Upload your CV

You can also upload your existing CV, and our CV Builder will extract your details automatically from it. Currently, the “Upload My CV” option doesn’t support Arabic language.

How can an employer contact me if my CV is set as Confidential?

Employers can contact you via the Secure Email Option. You will receive an email to your registered email address from the employer in this case.

Please note that in your workspace, there is a ‘Secure contacts’ link (next to ‘Searches’). When you click on the link, a job opening will be displayed for which the employer has short listed you. You can click on the job title to view the profile and apply directly using your Bayt CV if the vacancy interests you.

Why should I mention multiple designations for the Position Sought field in the Career Objective Section?

Here is where you define yourself in relation to your skills and experience. This is a critical part of your CV as it is the first section a potential employer reads and it should portray you in the most relevant and professional and marketable light.

We recommend that you fill it with appropriate keywords – which could be positions that you are qualified for and that any employer with a position to fill will be looking for.

For example, if you are an administrative professional, you may choose to mention Office Administrator/ PA/ Coordinator/ Executive Secretary rather than just mentioning ‘Administration’.
